Body image refers to the way a person views and feels about their body. These factors develop and change over a person’s lifetime They are influenced by all kinds of things such as the media, cultural traditions, and attitudes of friends and relations.
Our perceptions are highly influence by the media as that is our major contact with the world. Everything from movie companies, fashion houses, in fact anyone who has anything to sell. These images stereotype men and women by constantly representing the 'ideal' body type. These stereotypes become a standard by which people judge themselves – and others.
When a person gets positive feedback or sees others with similar images, bodies or situations as themselves it creates a positive feeling. These positive feelings produce a positive body image.
Although body image is affected or shaped by many factors, those factors and experiences are not set and can be changed by us. We have the power to resist stereotypes and negative influences. By refusing the media stereotypes, women will have access to a greater diversity of experiences that body image, self-esteem and confidence allow.
It is my aim through this website, photography and philosophy to help change the outlook on the human body and hopefully help many others get a better life, just simply feeling good about themselves. How can you excel in life if you don’t see yourself as worthy?
As a person who suffered from depression it took photography to help me take back control of my life and to live normally. It is through this journey that I discovered how important it is to feel confident, self-empowered and to have a real positive view of your self.
I soon discovered that if you are not happy with your body, you cannot be happy in your mind. It is through my photography that I found a way to help you first challenge, then to accept yourself for who you are. I help you to see the true beauty you posses and to see it in a positive, healthy and beautiful way. You might not think you look good, but I am here to show you that yes you are. I can prove it.
Why totally nude? Because there is nothing left to hide once you are nude. There is no "safety blanket" or image to hide behind. You are faced with seeing the real you as you are. Most of us cannot see the beauty that we each posses. It is through an artistic nude photo shoot that I help you to unleash and remove the blinkers and the blindfold that has stopped you in the past from seeing the beautiful you.
I go through step by step before, during and after the photo shoot why you actually do look good and point out all your positive traits.
Imagine for a moment you are in the studio doing your first nude photo shoot. The lights are flashing, the camera is clicking, and the air is electrifying with energy passion and enthusiasm. You are getting positive feedback as to why each pose makes you look fantastic. Then you see the stunning results from the photo shoot as proof that you do actually look awesome. Far better than you ever realised. That is just a small taste of what to expect during our photo session.
My aim is to explain to you from a professional point of view why you do look stunning. Why you too can look as beautiful and amazing as any celebrity, model or singer. Why you too can be a star! Basically we show you how to look good naked.
If you are unsure about doing it alone then invite some of your friends to both join in and do a shoot on the same day with you or to come along as moral support.
